After very successful pilot schemes in Larbert and Denny High Schools in 2006 and 2007, the Authority and Police Scotland have gradually increased the number of School Based Police Officers in Falkirk ever since. This means that all High Schools in the Falkirk Authority now have a dedicated full-time School Based Police Officer.

This is an initiative which is growing right across Scotland and it has been shown to be an excellent way of building good relationships between police, pupils & parents and the wider community; promoting good citizenship; and reducing victims & perpetrators of crime in both the short and long term by using early intervention through education.
